The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ogun State Chapter, has honoured the Pastor and Spiritual Head of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide, His Eminence, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa, with an Excellent Leadership Award for his visionary, courageous and Christ-centred leadership.

The award was presented on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Ogun State, as part of activities marking the Golden Jubilee of the Christian Association of Nigeria—50 years of Christian fellowship and service.

According to C.A.N Ogun State, the honour recognises Reverend E.M.F Oshoffa’s contribution to promoting unity, growth and strength within the Body of Christ in Nigeria.

The award was presented under the leadership of Rt. Reverend Emmanuel O. Adekunle, State Chairman, and Elder Apostle Jacob A. Adeaga, State Secretary.

Reverend Oshoffa, who is currently on a pastoral working tour of Europe, the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, was represented at the ceremony by Assistant Venerable Superior Evangelist Kayode Ajala, Secretary, Pastor in Council and Head of Media and Publicity, C.C.C Worldwide.

OSHOFFA ACCEPTS WITH HUMILITY

In a message to the C.A.N leadership, Reverend E,M,F Oshoffa accepted the honour with humility, thanksgiving and a profound sense of responsibility.

He commended the leadership of C.A.N for its commitment to Christian unity and fellowship, while expressing his identification with the association’s mission and ideals.

The recognition is consistent with Christ’s teaching on servant leadership: “Whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister.” — Matthew 20:26.

It also comes against the backdrop of C.A.N’s 50-year journey of fostering cooperation and fellowship among Christian denominations in Nigeria.

The Apostle Paul’s exhortation remains particularly apt: “Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.” — Romans 14:19.

For the Celestial Church of Christ, the honour represents a significant recognition of its spiritual leadership and an affirmation of the importance of collaboration in advancing the cause of Christ in Nigeria.
