ANOTHER POWERFUL DELEGATION FROM E.M.F. ATTENDS THE FUNERAL OF VENERABLE SUPERIOR MOTHER KOUGBLENOU SOUROU BERTHE

The funeral of Venerable Superior Mother Kougblenou Sourou Berthe, wife of Beninoise General Bertin Bada, took place on Wednesday 14th (Wake Keep) and Thursday 15th January 2026, at Cotonou, Republic of Benin.

Late Venerable Superior Mother Kougblenou Sourou Berthe, whose husband, General Bertin Bada, serves as military Chief of Staff to President Patrice Talon of Benin Republic and Chief of Beninoise Air Force, lost her life when coupists in a failed coup attempt, attacked her husband’s residence at Abomey-Calavi on the outskirts of Cotonou, late last year.

Recall that the husband of the deceased, General Bertin Bada, is the representative of President Patrice Talon in the Reconciliation Committee of the Celestial Church of Christ, which is the brainchild of the President of the Republic of Benin.

The E.M.F. delegation to the funeral was made up of Assistant Most Superior Evangelist Solomon Kuti, Assistant Most Superior Evangelist Afis Kiki and Assistant Most Superior Evangelist Abayomi Ilori.

The delegation conveyed a touching tribute from His Eminence, Reverend E.M.F Oshoffa, Pastor and Spiritual Head of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide, describing the deceased as “An incredible woman who exemplified grace, strength, and unwavering love.”

The tribute encouraged her family and loved ones to take solace in the fact that although she may no longer be with us physically, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire her family and loved ones.”
