UPDATE ON MISSING PERSON: NO CORPSE WAS BURIED OR EXHUMED IN A PARISH OF THE CELESTIAL CHURCH OF CHRIST

Superior Evangelist Whepetoji Babaniyeh: Embattled Shepherd

Contrary to the misinformation being circulated on the internet by armchair journalists and bloggers, claiming that the corpse of a missing LASU graduate, 28 year old Ogunbode Quadri Adedamola, was buried in the vicinity of the Celestial Church of Christ, Ileri Oluwa Parish, LASU 2, latest information reaching us confirms that no corpse was discovered buried near the church premises, nor was any corpse exhumed from the church compound.

Ogunbode Quadri Adedamola, a 2024 Political Science/Education graduate of the Lagos State University, who also runs a private business Horlar Edu Consultancy, on the LASU campus, was declared missing on 16th January, 2025.

A family source had noted that Quadri was last seen near the church, “He was last seen around the church and since then we have not heard from him. The Police have arrested the Shepherd of the parish over the incident and investigations are ongoing,” the family member had said.

The Shepherd in Charge in Charge of the parish in question, Superior Evangelist, Whepetoji Babaniyeh, was arrested by the Police but unlike what was widely reported, he never confessed to the crime of murder, neither was the sum of N1.5 million naira transferred to his account by the missing person.

The Police neither found the buried remains nor body parts of the missing person in the church premises. Also, the investigators did not discover guns, axes and cutlasses in the church premises as widely reported. The Shepherd, Superior Evangelist Whepetoji Babaniyeh, has been granted administrative bail by the Police and is presently perfecting his bail conditions.

The trail of blatant lies, falsehood and misinformation started from a Youtuber known as Authentic Auntie Adunni, who posted that the Shepherd initially denied knowing Quadri’s whereabouts but as investigation progressed, Police obtained the victim’s bank statements and discovered that N1.5 mllion had been transferred from Quadri’s account to Babaniyeh’s account on the day he went missing.

The Youtuber added that further investigations uncovered additional transfers from Quadri’s account to the Shepherd’s son. The Youtuber put the icing on the cake of her cocktail of lies by posting that it was discovered that the Celestial Church Shepherd and his accomplices killed Quadri, cut some parts of his body and buried the remaining inside the church compound. The Police thereafter swung into action and made more shocking discoveries. All these have been discovered to be lies..blatant lies!

When contacted, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin said, “We have no such report.”

A member of the missing person’s family also said, “We cannot confirm whether he is dead or alive. All we know is that he is missing. That is what we know. We have also not seen his corpse.”

A report in an online publication Blackbox Nigeria, confirmed that there are new developments in the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Ogunbode Quadri Adedamola, a LASU graduate, supposedly linked to a Celestial Church of Christ Shepherd, Superior Evangelist Whepetoji Babaniyeh.

Blackbox Nigeria further revealed that the Police have arrested another suspect, reportedly a member of the Aiye Confraternity. This suspect is said to be a friend of the Shepherd’s son.

Missing: 28 Year Old Ogunbode Quadri Adedamola

Superior Evangelist Whepetoji was actually arrested because it was discovered that one of the suspects transferred the sum of N70,000 to the Celestial Church parish account for the repair of the collapsed church fence. This transfer raised suspicions, leading the Police to investigate the Shepherd’s connection to the suspect.

Police investigation is still ongoing while the Shepherd has been granted bail and is in the process of meeting his bail conditions. As the investigation progresses, more details are expected to emerge.

His Eminence, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa, Pastor and Spiritual Head of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide, seizes this opportunity to, once again, sound a note of warning to all members of the fold who have made a profession out of running to the internet to circulate negative stories about the Celestial Church of Christ.

Reverend E.M.F. Oshoffa, warns that, as long as anyone wears the white garment of the C.C.C. and bows down to worship God in the fold, yet rushes to social media to spread negative stories about the Celestial Church of Christ, such persons are not only inviting negativity into their own lives, but are also sending an open invitation to the fiery wrath of God to come upon them and all that belongs to them.

“And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” (Rev 22:12).

To be forewarned is to be forearmed!
