INAUGURATION OF THE P.I.C IN “PICS” … And Other Matters

It is no longer news that the newly reconstituted Pastor-In-Council of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide was inaugurated on Thursday, 2nd July 2026, at the Celestial Church of Christ, Saint S.B.J Oshoffa Cathedral, International Headquarters, Oshikomaiya Street, Ketu, Lagos.

The council, which is the highest policy formulating body of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide, has a membership drawn from the best that the fold has to offer from across the globe.

The body is made up of the clergy and laity of C.C.C Worldwide from Nigeria to London to Canada, Austria to Australia, Italy to India, and even beyond.

It is noteworthy that the Pastor in Council, C.C.C Worldwide, is saddled with the responsibility of assisting the Pastor and Spiritual Head, C.C.C Worldwide, in formulating policies that would engender the growth, progress, development and unity of the world’s largest white garment church, C.C.C W/w.

Speaking during the inauguration of the reconstituted P.I.C, the Secretary of the Council, AVSE Kayode Ajala Mpic, said, “The task before the newly inaugurated council members is indeed herculean, and that is just to put it mildly.

Apart from the policy making responsibility, this newly reconstituted council, with the tenure 2026-2030, has an unfinished legacy project to complete.

That is the P.I.C. legacy project embarked upon by the previous council. That project is the completion of the Imeko Conference Centre, Celestial City, Imeko, Ogun State.

As it is, that project is seventy per cent completed. However, with the calibre and capacity of the individuals in the reconstituted Pastor-In-Council, I am quite optimistic that they would rise up to the task and complete that project in good time.

That is why it is important that the newly inaugurated members of the Pastor-In-Council (2026-2030), should not see the M.P.I.C acronym as a honourary chieftaincy title and an instrument to flaunted and used to oppress other members of the fold.

An opportunity to serve in the Pastor-In-Council of our great church is a serious call to duty. A call to servant leadership,” he concluded.

In order to hit the ground running therefore, machinery would be set in motion at the first meeting of the Council, to activate the Pastor in Council Working Committees that form the engine room of the Council.

These committees include:

  • COMMITTEE ON EVANGELISM:
  • COMMITTEE ON DISCIPLINE
  • COMMITTEE ON MONITORING
  • COMMITTEE ON WELFARE
  • COMMITTEE ON FINANCE
  • COMMITTEE ON LEGAL MATTERS
  • COMMITTEE ON WORKS
  • COMMITTEE ON PUBLICITY, THE PRESS, AND PUBLICATIONS
  • COMMITTEE ON YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AND EMPOWERMENT
  • COMMITTEE ON SECURITY
  • COMMITTEE ON UNIFICATION
  • COMMITTEE ON LITURGY AND DOCTRINES
  • COMMITTEE ON EDUCATION
  • COMMITTEE ON CHOIR PERFORMANCE AND MUSIC

Obviously, spirits were quite high and enthusiasm also overflowed as the returning and new members of the reconstituted Pastor-In-Council, C.C.C Worldwide, took the oath of office administered by the Secretary of the Board of Trustees, C.C.C Worldwide, Superior Evangelist Obafemi Adewale (SAN), in the presence of His Eminence, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa, Pastor and Spiritual Head of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide.
