VSE OLATOSHO OSHOFFA, OTHERS, SPEAK AGAINST PATRICE TALON’S SINISTER MOVES TO PUT C.C.C IN SHACKLES
The Shepherd in Charge of the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters Cathedral, Ketu, Lagos, who is also a biological son of the Founder of the fold, VSE Olatosho Oshoffa, has spoken in very strong terms against the recent pronouncements by the former President of Benin Republic, Patrice Talon, concerning the Celestial Church of Christ.

At a recent meeting held at Salle Barbara Marie De Saint Quen, France, the former Beninese President, Patrice Talon, proposed the introduction of a law to regulate the methodology and acceptable mode of religious associations in Benin Republic. A proposal which is seen in many quarters as a sinister step by Talon to take over the administrative reins of the Celestial Church of Christ.
Reacting to the development, VSE Olatosho Oshoffa joined his voice with those of other concerned Christian leaders in the Republic of Benin to condemn the proposal in its entirety.
Speaking in an audio recording that has gone viral on new media, VSE Olatosho Oshoffa called on all citizens to reject any law that seeks to restrict their freedom of religion and worship. He emphasized that citizens should raise their voices and protest, within the ambits of the law, against any illegality that tampers with their fundamental human right of religion and worship.
VSE Oshoffa made it clear that the unification committee put together by Talon to unite the Celestial Church of Christ was not properly constituted and did not include all true elders of the fold.
He further warned against any threat of arrest or intimidation by Patrice Talon, former President of Benin Republic, saying that such threats or retrogressive laws can only be effective in Benin Republic and not in Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire, Togo, UK, USA, or Canada. “We can not be threatened by a law that has no reach beyond Benin’s borders,” he concluded.
In his own reaction, Pastor Fiogbe of Benin Republic raised a number of questions concerning the sincerity of Patrice Talon’s motives for championing the unification of the Celestial Church of Christ.
Hear him, “Why does Talon want to control each citizens freedom of religion and worship? How far will Talon go to pull the devil by the tail? A man who wants to unify the Celestial Church of Christ must first of all be able to unify the people of Benin Republic.
In the words of Pastor Fiogbe, “How can a man who refuses to sit down with his own people to reconcile them go and sit down in Saint-Quen, France, to reconcile a church? We do not entrust the sheep to the wolf to guard it. We do not entrust the reconciliation of a church which preaches love, forgiveness, and humility to a man whose only political language is exclusion, cunning and rage.
Talon cannot be preaching unity in San-Quen, France, and be organising division in Cotonou, Republic of Benin. The Beninese people are not fooled, neither is the Celestial Church of Christ,” concludes Pastor Fiogbe.
