P.I.C VOTES AGAINST MOVING C.C.C HEADQUARTERS / DECEMBER CONVOCATION TO BENIN REPUBLIC

The reconstituted Pastor-In-Council of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide under the Chairmanship of His Eminence, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa, Pastor and Spiritual Head, C.C.C Worldwide, has voted massively against any plan to move the location of the Headquarters of the Celestial Church of Christ, and the venue of the December Annual Imeko December Convocation, from Nigeria to the Republic of Benin.

This is sequel to the submissions of the Higher Transitional Council (CST) set up by the former President of the Republic of Benin, President Patrice Talon.

In a development that can be easily described as the first resolution of the reconstituted Pastor-In-Council, members of the body, in a voice vote, took the position that the location of the Headquarters of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide, as well as the venue of the annual Imeko December Convocation, must remain in Imeko, Ogun State, Nigeria, in line with the pronouncement of our reverred Reverend, Pastor and Founder, Saint Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa.

The resolution was taken immediately after the inauguration of members of the Council held at the Celestial Church of Christ, Saint S.B.J Oshoffa Cathedral, International Headquarters, Ketu, Lagos, on Thursday, 2nd July, 2026.

The thunderous roar of the voices of the “ayes” as the voice vote was conducted confirmed the position of the Pastor-In-Council (2026-2030), that the headquarters of the fold and the venue of the Imeko December Annual Convocation must remain in Nigeria.

The proposal to relocate the Church Headquarters or the Pilgrimage to the Republic of Benin should not be a matter for debate or voting. The Constitution is explicit that the pilgrimage is to be held at the place where the Founder was laid to rest. Likewise, the Church’s registered Headquarters remains Imeko.

It is therefore important to ask: on what constitutional or legal basis is the proposal to move either the Headquarters or the Pilgrimage to the Republic of Benin being made? If such a proposal is inconsistent with both the Constitution and the expressed wishes of the Founder, then it should not even arise for consideration. We must be careful not to set aside the very Constitution that governs our Church.

Furthermore, it has already been made public that the Pastor and some other members withdrew from the committee because of concerns surrounding this issue. If that is indeed the case, any recommendation emanating from that committee on this matter ought to be treated with caution. Such recommendations should first be examined for their constitutional validity before they are presented for discussion, and certainly should not be subjected to a vote or used as the basis for passing any resolution if they conflict with the Church’s Constitution.
