MC OLASINMI AKINDELE ODUNMBAKU: GONE TO BE WITH THE LORD, DANCING WITH HIS ANGELS

The final journey of late Mother Celestial Olasinmi Akindele Odunmbaku, beloved wife of Cardinal James Omolaja Odunmbaku MPIC, began on Thursday, 2nd July, 2026, with a Wake Keep and Night of Praise held at the Hyde Park Event Centre, Agidingbi, Lagos.

The well attended and solemn ceremony saw Venerable Superior Evangelist H.O Michaels Mpic, of the Celestial Church of Christ conducting the service, with the sermon delivered by Assistant Most Superior Evangelist Afis Kiki Mpic, Shepherd in Charge, Celestial Church of Christ, National Headquarters, Archdiocese, Makoko, Yaba, Lagos.

The lying in State and commendation service for the departed amazon and former Ondo State Commissioner for Women Affairs, was held the following day at the Lagos State Government Chapel of Christ the Light (Interdenominational), located at the Central Business District, Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

In attendance were the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Babajide O. Sanwoolu, the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Her Excellency, Noimot Salako Oyedele, former and present Ondo State Women Affairs Commisioners, and renowned and respected clergy men across denominations.

The soul-touching and highly reflective sermon was delivered by Venerable Superior Evangelist Olatosho Oshoffa, Shepherd in Charge, Celestial Church of Christ, Saint S.B.J Oshoffa Cathedral, International Headquarters, Ketu, Lagos.

Interment followed thereafter at Ikoyi, Lagos.

May her soul continue to rest in perfect peace, and may the Lord grant her husband, Cardinal James Omolaja Odunmbaku, family, friends and associates she left behind the fortitude to bear this very painful and irreparable loss. Amen.
