GENTLE TO THE CORE, YET SO STRONG: TRIBUTE TO MOTHER CELESTIAL ABOSEDE BERNICE ALAO (1950-2024)

Grandma Abosede Bernice Alao (nee Fowotade) didn’t pretend about anything or anyone nor about herself at anytime. She was the quintessential study in humility and a fulfilment of God’s biblical promise of elevation to the humble.

Grandma would sit in church with a quiet mien and a smile for everyone. But when the service is over, she would call your attention to what you did right or not too right, without disparaging you, but just to encourage you. Others may discuss your foibles with people, but she would rather discuss you with you, just like the Book of Galatians admonishes us all to do.

She gave her all to her family and to the churches where herself and her husband served, plus where she worshipped after he was gone. She would rather grow hungry and work her fingers to the bone than watch her children starve or not go to school. She was a praying mom like her own mom too.

Grandma’s sacrifice paid off big time and all her children are graduates, all of them are married, all of them have children, all of them are Christians and all of them now live and work abroad.

By every stretch of your imagination, Grandma Alao’s lifetime as a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and church matron was a huge success.

We cherished her so much, we awarded her the double honour of ‘Mother of TheVille’ covering ShaddaiVille Ministries [in Nigeria, United Kingdom, United States and Germany] as well as C.C.C. PraiseVille. She cherished us so much, she accepted the honour.
