JUSTICE AT LAST! SUPERIOR EVANGELIST WHEPETOJI BABANIYEH DISCHARGED AND ACQUITTED…After Months in Detention for Murder of LASU Student!!!

Superior Evangelist Whepetoji Babaniyeh, Shepherd in Charge of the Celestial Church of Christ, Ileri Oluwa Parish, LASU 2, is free at last!

This brings to an end his tortous ordeal, spanning several months in detention, after being falsely accused of killing a 28 year old Political Science graduate of the Lagos State University (LASU), Ogunbode Quadri Adedamola. Today, the traumatised Shepherd walked out of the Magistrate Court, Oyingbo, Lagos, a free and vindicated man!!!

For Superior Evangelist Whepetoji Babaniyeh, the horror movie began early in the year when the LASU graduate, Ogunbode Quadri Adedamola, who also ran a private business, Holar Edu Consultancy on the LASU campus, was declared missing on 16th January, 2025.

The terrifying movie appeared to assume techni-colour clarity when a blogging platform, that seems to be in a competition with itself to tarnish the name and image of the celestial Church of Christ Worldwide, went to town with a litany of unverified news.

In spreading falsehood, this blogging platform was joined by a Youtuber known as Aunty Adunni, who posted that the Shepherd initially denied knowing Quadri’s whereabouts but as investigation progressed, Police obtained the victim’s bank statements and discovered that N1.5 million naira had been transferred from Quadri’s account to Babaniyeh’s account on the day he went missing. Additional falsehood was that Superior Evangelist Whepetoji Babaniyeh confessed to the crime of murder.

Again, the Police neither found the buried remains nor the body parts of the missing person within the church premises, but instead found it in the vicinity of the church premises. Also, the investigators did not discover guns, axes and cutlasses in the church premises as widely reported. The agents of falsehood and lies also orchestrated that it was discovered that the Celestial Church Shepherd and his accomplices killed Quadri, cut some parts of his body and buried the remaining inside the church compound. And that the Police thereafter swung into action and made more shocking discoveries. Lies…blatant lies!!!

Superior Evangelist Whepetoji Babaniyeh was actually arrested because it was discovered that one of the suspects transferred the sum of N70,000 to the C.C.C. Shepherd for the repair of the collapsed church fence. The transfer raised suspicions leading the Police to investigate the Shepherd’s connection to the suspect.

Concerned about the fate of the embattled Shepherd, His Eminence, Reverend E.M.F. Oshoffa, raised a high powered delegation to meet with the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Jimoh Moshood, to state the position of C.C.C. on the matter. The delegation included Venerable Superior Evangelist Victor Nosa Ojo (Chairman, Task Force Corps, C.C.C. W/w), AVSE Kayode Ajala (Head, Media and Publicity, C.C.C. W/w), and two members of the Pastor in Council, Superior Evangelist Olayinka Idowu and Superior Evangelist David Sikpa.

Speaking on behalf of the C.C.C. delegation, AVSE Kayode Ajala (Head, Media and Publicity, C.C.C. W/w), assured that the church would work hand-in-hand with the Police to ensure that justice is served. He emphasised that the church would not obstruct the quest for justice and sympathised with the family of the deceased. He was optimistic that the embattled Shepherd of the church in Police custody would be given a clean bill of health at the end of the ongoing investigation.

That optimism became reality today. After painstaking, thorough and extensive investigation, the Magistrate Court sitting at Oyingbo did not find any evidence linking the Shepherd to the crime. Superior Evangelist Whepetoji Babaniyeh was therefore discharged and acquitted earlier today. He walked out of the courtroom a free man!
